Although wind power has long been considered to be clean, green energy, but from New York pediatrician Nina Pi Pierpont (Dr Nina Pierpont) however pointed out that wind turbines on humans living in the vicinity of a potential health hazard. This “wind syndrome” has led to a series of health problems, should cause the Government’s attention.

Over the past five years, Nina has been in the United States, Britain, Italy, Ireland and Canada living in the vicinity of wind turbines to investigate the health status of residents and monitoring. Survey results have confirmed that a large number of “wind turbine syndrome” has become a new disease. Turbine noise and low-frequency noise to stimulate the inner ear vestibular system, resulting in people ringing in the ears, dizziness, panic attacks, sleep disturbance, tachycardia, increase the risk of heart disease and other health problems.

Although the wind turbines is not high decibels of noise, and even better to airport noise, but Nina’s studies have shown that the human ear is more sensitive to shocks, not just noise. Vibration and low-level subsonic noise on the ear to stimulate the vestibular system can directly affect the sense of balance. If the findings in accordance with Nina over the past 70 years, for the wind turbine noise testing standards will be subversive.

The article points out, although the Government vigorously to change our energy structure, and use more clean energy to change human lives, but public health issues and the ecological sensitivity and should not be ignored. For example, the French government to allow a radius of 1.5 kilometers in the residential building near the wind turbines, while Nina’s proposal is to build a radius of 2 km outside the wind farm.

UK government agencies will not respond to the study of Nina, some acoustical engineer wind energy companies, said Nina sample size is too small, not authoritative. However, from the environmental protection agencies and sleep Association have found that a positive response to this, and actively promote the establishment of the Government to reconsider the location of wind farms and on human health arising from adverse effects.
